But Hyundai’s IONIQ is set to steal some of that desirability thunder from Tesla in offering one of the most tech-filled, feature-packed electric SUVs on the market. Whilst impressing with important EV fundamentals like charge times and range. The 2WD is actually RWD and it packs 160 kW and 350 Nm of that lovely electric motor torque. The more powerful AWD version in our video adds another motor for the front wheels. It adds 70 kW of power but an additional 255 Nm of torque for the combined output of 225 kW and 605 Nm of torque. On-board AC charger charges the car in about 6 hours, the fast DC charger with 50 kW gets it to 80% in around an hour and the ultra-fast DC charger does the same thing in under 20 minutes. The official range is 430 km for this AWD version and 451 for the RWD. This car reaches 100 in 5.2 seconds and it accelerates from 80-120 in just 3.8 seconds.
